Glassdoor revealed in its fifth annual list of 50 Best Places to Work that Facebook is as good as it gets as an employer, beating out other tech companies such as Apple and Google for the top spot. Last year, the social network placed third.
It's no wonder the company placed so highly among staffers. Facebook is known to provide three meals to workers, top-notch medical and retirement benefits, on-site lectures and even laundry services.
"We are out recruiting in what is a really competitive environment in Silicon Valley and the tech industry," said Facebook VP of Human Resources Lori Goler said in a video. "We find people in all different kinds of ways, from on campus to side projects that get our attention and a lot of people apply to Facebook to come join us and work here. Helping the outside world understand what it's like to work at Facebook is a really important part of that."
Rounding out the top ten is McKinsey & Company (No. 2), Riverbed Technology (No. 3), Bain & Company (No. 4), M.D. Anderson Cancer Center (No. 5), Google (No. 6), Edelman (No. 7), National Instruments (No. 8), In-N-Out Burger (No. 9) and Boston Consulting Group (No. 10). Meanwhile, LinkedIn (No. 14) and Apple (No. 34) made the top 50.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg received a 99% approval rating by its employees, followed by Google CEO Larry Page (96%) and LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner (91%).
