Pinterest’s newest user is none other than Michelle Obama, the first lady of the United States.

The account is officially run by President Obama’s campaign staff, but pins posted and captioned by the first lady herself are signed “-mo,” the same system used for the Obamas’ Twitter accounts.

So far, the account has three pinboards: “Around the White House,” which includes behind-the-scenes footage of life at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., “Great Memories,” a smorgasbord of Obama family memories, and “Father’s Day,” a collection of photos that showcase the president’s role as father-in-chief.

Some of the photos posted are official White House shots, others are personal photos taken well before the Obama family lived in Washington.

Politicians’ wives are often used by campaigns to humanize candidates by showing off their family side.

Pinterest has become a favorite tool of campaigns to achieve that goal: Ann Romney, wife of Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney, also has a Pinterest page with similarly themed pinboards.
