Local info site Trulia launched a Commute Map that lets users dynamically visualize their journey to work.
It’s especially useful for those planning to move to a new area. The interactive and responsive map helps users see commute times to work and other areas by translating the information into a heat bubbles.

The Commute Map communicates a large amount of information in an easy-to-digest format. It uses transit information and OpenStreetMaps data to produce a visual, color-coded representation of commute times.

Users can specify a start point, and the map calculates the journey in real-time. Green represents a short commute, and red signals it will take more than one hour. The commute time can be manipulated using a slider to visualize the places that easily accessible or areas that are more dense and crowded.
